Men's Basketball: IU East 108, Miami Middletown 46

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team started the new year off with a victory on Thursday, Jan. 4.

The Red Wolves had six players in double figures in an 108-46 win over Miami University Middletown on Lingle Court.

IU East is now 6-8 overall, while the Thunderhawks fall to 1-13.  

Antuane Allen topped the Red Wolves with a season-high 20 points, while Jake Johnson was next with 18 points.

Allen's previous best was 18 against Grace Christian University during the First Bank Classic on Nov. 4.

Raedhyn Foust finished with 17 points as Kobe Ward tossed in 16. Colt Meyer scored 14 points with Ibra Athie adding 13 to go with a team-high 10 rebounds. Tobey Billups dished out 11 assists.

While the Red Wolves held an early advantage, the Thunderhawks were eventually on top 12-9 with 14:42 remaining in the opening period.

However, by the 8:52 mark of the first half Ward capped a run of 19 straight points with a layup as the Red Wolves took command of the affair with a 28-12 margin. The Red Wolves put the game away by halftime with a 50-25 lead.

Next up for the Red Wolves is River States Conference foe WVU Tech on Monday, Jan. 8. The home contest gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
