Men's Basketball: Bethel 87, IU East 67

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team dropped a 87-67 decision Bethel University on Saturday, Dec. 30.

The Red Wolves are now 5-8 overall, while the Pilots are 11-2.

Ibra Athie led IU East with 12 points, while Jake Johnson and Devon Woods both tossed in 11.

Johnson also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Woods topped the Red Wolves with five assists.

Sekou Maiga scored at the 12:42 mark of the opening period for IU East to tie the game in Gates Gymnasium at 12-12.

From the point, the Pilots were able to pull away and lead 49-35 by halftime to take control of the contest.

IU East begins 2024 at home versus Miami University-Middletown on Thursday, Jan. 4. The affair on Lingle Court gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
