Men's Golf: NAIA National Championships Day 2 Recap

SILVIS. Ill. - The season came to an end for the Indiana University East men's golf team as the Red Wolves competed at the NAIA National Championships on Wednesday, May 13.

The Red Wolves finished 27th out of 29 teams as they reached the national tournament for the first time after winning the River States Conference title last month.

IU East improved its team score on the second day at TPC Deere Run to close out with a 310-306-616.

Sam Firebaugh (77-78-155), Landon True (75-80-155) and Dare Bowles (77-78-155) were all tied for 103rd on the individual leaderboard.

Nick Brubaker (81-75-156) and Noah Mulford (81-75-156) had identical scores finishing just one shot behind their teammates to end tied for 117th.

Oklahoma City University (290-278-568) is on top heading into the final two rounds as 15 teams made the cut to advance in the four-day event that will be completed on Friday. The top six individuals that were on non-qualifying squads also moved on in the tournament. Carter Ray of Oklahoma City University has the best individual score with a 68-70-138.
