Men's Golf: Red Wolves Win Delaware Shootout

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's golf team won its second event of the fall as the Red Wolves claimed the title at the Delaware Country Club Shootout on Friday, Sept. 5.

As a team, the Red Wolves had a score of 287-287-574 to finish ahead of Elmhurst University (292-289-581), the University of Rio Grande (293-293-586), Brescia University (302-304-606) and Earlham College (309-307-616). The IU East "B" squad was fifth in the field with a 311-303-614.

Sam Firebaugh (72-70-142) and Dare Bowles (70-72-142) tied for second on the individual leaderboard for the Red Wolves, while Bo Smith of Elmhurst was the medalist at 69-70-139.

The other scores for IU East were Landon True (75-72-147, 10th), Noah Mulford (70-79-149, T11th) and Nick Brubaker (77-73-150, T15th).

Ryan Craig led the IU East "B" team with a 76-76-152 to finish in a tie for 18th. Craig was followed by Riley Bratton (78-75-153, T20th), Hudson Hickey (78-76-154, T22nd), Braden Tedder (79-76-155, 24th) and Kylan Nash (83-76-159, T28th).

Playing as individuals for the Red Wolves were Anton Ross (72-74-176, T7th) and Zach Rutan (84-86-170, 34th).

Next up for the Red Wolves is the Forest Hills Invitational hosted by Earlham College on Saturday, Sept. 13.
