Men's Soccer: Andrews Named Head Coach for Red Wolves
RICHMOND, Ind. - Jordan Andrews has been named the new men's soccer coach at Indiana University East.
The Michigan native is pleased to be the new leader of the Red Wolves.
"I have the ability to coach at a very high level in the NAIA, while taking over a program that has had some success, but it's also an opportunity to really imprint a good brand," Andrews said. "The IU brand is huge and being able to work under that and sell that is really a big thing I could really take advantage of and create a culture of what IU represents."
A 2015 graduate of Bluffton University, the 32-year-old Andrews comes to the Red Wolves after serving as the Director of Operations and U15 Head Coach at the Hoosier Premier Academy, which led to the start of an MLS NEXT franchise.
"I'm excited about adding Jordan to our coaching staff," IU East Associate Athletic Director Nick Fortini said. "He has an extensive soccer background at all levels with a lot of success, which will be a valuable asset as we approach the 2026 season this fall."
Andrews is looking forward to the fall and he appreciates what current assistant coach Kobe Soto has done over the past few months.
"He's done a very good job of making sure that the program is still stable," Andrews said. "It's really relationship building with the current guys we have and showing them what we will implement from a style side of things."
"My teams are always really highly technical," Andrews continued. "They like to play quick fast paced possession style soccer. We like to get to the opponent’s half quickly and ideally dominate from there. We will have to have a blend of a lot of different styles. We will have to be very compact defensively as well because we will be playing against good programs that can break you down."
Beginning his career at Finlandia University, Andrews was an assistant men's coach in 2015 before becoming the women's head coach from 2017 to 2019. Also during that time, he was the Director of Player Development and an assistant coach at Detroit City FC.
Andrews was at the University of Notre Dame from 2021-23 as the Director of Operations for the women's soccer team as the Fighting Irish reached the Sweet Sixteen two times, while being ranked in the top 25. After his time in South Bend, he moved on to Dartmouth College with the women's soccer team as his wife Kendra was the Big Green's women's cross country coach.
