Men's Soccer: IU Columbus 3, IU East 2
COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision at IU Columbus on Thursday, Oct. 9.
IU East is now 3-8-1 overall and 1-3 in the River States Conference. The Crimson Pride are 5-6-1, 2-2.
The Crimson Pride scored three times in the opening half at 3:37, 7:29 and 29:59 at the Richard J. Wigh Soccer Center.
late in the contest, IU East scored twice to close the gap. Jaiden Earls picked up his third goal of the season to make 3-1 At 73:38. Gideon Nelson helped on the play as he recorded his third assist.
The final tally for the Red Wolves came at 84:27 on a penalty kick by Noah Backhaus, who has four goals this season. Backhaus has converted all three of his penalty kicks this fall.
Elijah Williamson had seven saves in goal for IU East.
The Red Wolves return to action on Senior Day versus Brescia University at Eaton High School on Saturday, Oct. 11. The conference contest is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
