Tennis: Red Wolves Celebrate Senior Day
RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East tennis teams split a pair of River States Conference matches with IU Southeast on Sunday, April 12.
On Senior Day, the Red Wolves won the men's match 6-1 at Richmond High School, while the women's squad fell 4-3.
Sachin Vanaraja and Clay Conner were both recognized for their contributions to the IU East tennis program prior to the matches.
IU East's men are now 7-12 with a 2-2 mark in the RSC as the women are 5-12 and 1-3.
Victorious in men's doubles action on the Tiernan Center Courts for the Red Wolves were Andrea Klaric and Vanaraja (No. 1) along with Juan Diego Balao and Alex Piercy (No. 2).
Vanaraja (No. 1), Klaric (No. 2), Diego Balao (No. 3), Connor Burk (No. 5) and Clay Conner (No. 6) all won in singles for IU East.
Brooke Schafstall and Gracie Helms (No. 1) won for IU East in women's doubles.
Winners for the Red Wolves in singles were Helms (No. 1), Schafstall (No. 4) and Lexi Wennen (No. 5).
Both teams play at Earlham College on Friday, April 17. The contests in the Gene Hambrick Varsity Tennis Center get underway at 3 p.m.
