Indoor Track: IU East at IWU Midwest Classic Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East indoor track and field teams are set to compete in the Indiana Wesleyan University Midwest Classic on Saturday, Feb. 7.

All of the events in Troyer Fieldhouse are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

In addition to Saturday, the Red Wolves have a trip to Grand Valley State University next weekend before they take part in the River States Conference Indoor Championships at Marietta College on Feb 20-21.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* IU East had three athletes record NAIA national qualifying times last weekend with Cameron Nocton and Kayci Hill earning RSC Track Athlete of the Week.

* Nocton and Sarah Perry both won their 3,000-meter racewalks at the Olivet Nazarene University Invitational. Nocton's time of 13:08.51 was the third best in the NAIA this season and an "A" Standard. Perry recorded a "B" Standard with the 10th fastest time in the NAIA at 17:58.79.

* Hill was second in the women's 1,000 meters at Olivet Nazarene with a school record time of 3:00.09, which was converted to 2:58.15 for a "B" Standard.

* The NAIA National Indoor Championships are March 5-7 in Gainesville, Fla.
