Track & Field: Weekend Preview
RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East outdoor track and field teams travel south for the second straight weekend as the Red Wolves compete in the Hilltopper Relays at Western Kentucky on March 31-April 1.
The two-day event in Bowling Green at the Charles M. Ruter Track gets underway with the field events on Friday at noon (IU East time). Track activity begins at 2:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the field events start at 10 a.m. Races on the track are scheduled for 1 p.m.
FOLLOW THE MEET
This event has teams from the NAIA and NCAA.
The Charles M. Ruter Track is located at 1906 College Heights Blvd, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
There is no charge for spectators, but only coaches and staff are admitted to infield.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW
* IU East's men finished second of 12 teams in the Margaret Simmons Invitational at Murray State University last weekend.
* Ty'Shaun Williams was the River States Conference Field Athlete of the Week as he won the shot put (14.57 meters). He was second in the discus (46.65 meters) and fourth in the hammer (44.15 meters).
* Rex Kirchenstien (decathlon) and Kyler Shultz (javelin) also won their events. Shultz also scored in the hammer and shot put.
* Also scoring last weekend for the men were Richard Bower (steeplechase), Mylan Nocton (5,000), Tristan Thomas (long jump), Tucker Burris (5,000), Erick Gallardo Cortes (800), AJ Ludwig (800), DeAndre Hall (800), Layne Beard (hammer and javelin) and Teagen Rodriguez (1,500).
* Scoring for the women's squad were Reanna Stinson (high jump), Brooke Sudhoff (pole vault), Mimi Perkins (hammer), Rikki Phenis (javelin), Izzy King (javelin), Caitlin Gilland (hammer) and Vanessa Temple (heptahlon).
