Track & Field: Weekend Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East track and field squads will have a busy weekend as the Red Wolves visit three different events.

The heptathlon and decathlon participants along with some throwers will participate in the Gibson Invitational at Indiana State University on April 13-14. The start time on both days is 10 a.m.

Also on Friday, the IU East distance runners are scheduled to compete in the Tiffin University Track Carnival with the running events at Heidelberg University beginning at 11 a.m.

Most of the team will be taking the trip to the Cherry Blossom Invitational at Ohio University on Saturday, April 15. The field events are at 10 a.m., while the track activity is at 11 a.m.

These events have teams from the NAIA and NCAA.

Indiana State's Gibson Track & Field Complex is located at 400 N. 1st Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807. Results.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* Three IU East records were broken in the Good Friday Invitational at Indiana Tech on April 7.

* Richard Bower was second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a record time of 10:15.80.

* Teagen Rodriguez was fifth in the men's 1,500-meter run with a new standard of 4:06.26.

* Brooke Sudhoff was fourth in pole vault clearing 3.20 meters to set a new mark.

* Updated River States Conference performance lists for IU East are available for the men and women. The RSC Outdoor Championships at the University of Rio Grande are April 28-29.
