Women's Golf: RSC Championships Day 2 Recap

DANIELS, W. Va. - The Indiana University East women's golf team heads into the final day of the River States Conference Championships in second place after the second round on Monday, May 4.

Midway University leads the field of eight squads with a team score of 324-312-636 at The Resort at Glade Springs.

IU East is next at 314-327-641 followed by St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in third with 328-341-669.

"We've got to give Midway credit for a great round played," IU East coach Billy Mullin said. "We weren't quite as sharp today as we were yesterday. Tomorrow is going to be battle and we need all hands on deck."

Peityn Gillman leads IU East with a two-day total of 79-80-159, which puts her in third place. Kasey Cameron of Midway is at the top of the individual leaderboard at 80-75-155.

Sophia Curry (76-84-160) and Maddie Campbell (80-80-160) finished Monday in a tie for fourth.

The other scores for the Red Wolves were Lainey Jackson at 81-83-164 (T11th) and Jalyn Bruns with 79-90-169 (17th).

Tuesday's final round gets underway at 9 a.m. The tee times for the Red Wolves are Bruns (10:40 a.m.), Jackson (10:50 a.m.), Curry (11 a.m.), Campbell (11:10 a.m.) and Gillman (11:20).
