Women's Golf: IU East Second at RSC Championships
DANIELS, W. Va. - The Indiana University East women's golf team finished second in the 2026 River States Conference Championships on Tuesday, May 5.
Midway University (324-312-316-952) won the event for the second straight year with the Red Wolves following the Eagles again in the 8-team standings at The Resort at Glade Springs.
IU East posted a 314-327-331-972 as St. Mary-of-the-Woods College came in third at 328-341-339-1008.
The Red Wolves had three golfers on the All-RSC First Team led by Peityn Gillman (79-80-82-241), who was fourth individually. Savannah Salchli of Midway was medalist at 78-79-75-232.
Joining Gillman on the All-RSC First Team in a tie for fifth were Sophia Curry (76-84-83-243) and Maddie Campbell (80-80-83-243).
Lainey Jackson (81-83-83-247, 12th) was a member of the All-RSC Third Team and she was followed by Jalyn Bruns (79-90-83-252, 17th).
Ashlynne Osborne ended her career in the final round as she recorded a 90 on the last day playing as an individual before being named to the RSC Champions of Character Team.
"We never applied any pressure today and Midway held up very well," IU East coach Billy Mullin said. "We want to thank Ashlynne, Jalyn and Sophia for everything they have done for the program. We are going to miss them. The program is in a good position still going forward."
With the exception of the COVID cancelled 2020 tournament, IU East has finished in the top two positions every year since 2018 as the Red Wolves won the title three times from 2022-2024.
