CENTERVILLE, Ind. - Maggie Bischoff scored a pair of goals and added an assist for the Indiana University East women's soccer team as the Red Wolves played to a 3-3 draw against IU Kokomo on Thursday, Sept. 21.
The Red Wolves trailed 2-1 after the first period of the River States Conference opener for both squads before Bischoff tied it at 52:10 with an assist from Ava Wittrock.
After the Cougars added another goal to take a 3-2 lead, Bischoff picked up the final tally at the 82:07 mark.
With the tie, the Red Wolves are now 0-5-3 overall and 0-0-1 in the RSC. IU Kokomo is 2-3-4, 0-0-1.
"Super proud of these players," IU East coach Shane Meridith said. "We have had some tough results and tonight, we found a way to battle back from being down three times. Having said that, we have got to start putting together longer stretches of consistent soccer."
RSC Offensive Player of the Week Keely Hoopingarner gave the Cougars the lead in the midway into the first half before the Red Wolves were able to answer.
Morgan Grudich scored at 35:22 to tie the contest with Bischoff assisting. The Cougars responded with a score in the final moments of the first half.
IU East goalkeeper Kylie O'Leary had five saves for the Red Wolves.
Next up for the Red Wolves is a trip to the University of Rio Grande on Saturday, Sept. 23. The RSC affair gets underway at 5 p.m.
