CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio - A penalty kick by Maggie Bischoff proved to be the difference for the Indiana University East women's soccer team as the Red Wolves defeated Ohio Christian University 1-0 on Thursday, Oct. 19.
After a scoreless opening period in the River States Conference contest, Bischoff's ninth goal of the season came at the 47:33 mark of the second half.
Bischoff leads IU East in scoring with 22 points on nine goals and four assists.
With their fourth straight win, the Red Wolves are 4-6-5 overall and 4-1-3 in the RSC. Ohio Christian falls 0-12 and 0-8.
IU East dominated the action as the Red Wolves had a 25-8 advantage in shots and 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
Goalkeeper Kylie O'Leary had two saves for IU East.
The Red Wolves are back in action as they host new conference foe IUPUC on Saturday, Oct. 21. The match at Eaton (Ohio) High school gets underway at 2 p.m.
