EATON, Ohio – Ava Wittrock and Denis Davalos scored second-half goals to help lift the IU East women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Brescia on Saturday.
Wittrock's goal came in the 78th minute. Three seconds before, Morgan Grudich's attempt was saved. Wittrock collected the rebound and was able to get it passed the Bearcats keeper.
The Red Wolves attempted 23 shots, nine finding the frame. Brescia was held to just two shots. Maggie Bishoff led with six shots, three on target.
IU East was able to find more breathing room after Davalos converted on her PK attempt in the 85th minute.
The win improves the Red Wolves record to 3-6-5 on the season and a 3-1-3 conference record, good for third.
IU East will travel to Ohio Christian on Thursday.
