Women's Soccer: IU East 1, Brescia 0

EATON, Ohio – Maya Diceanu celebrated her senior day in the best way possible.

Diceanu scored the game-winning goal in the 86th minute to give the Red Wolves a 1-0 win over Brescia on Saturday in the River States Conference Game of the Week.

With the win, the Red Wolves improved to 7-4-2 overall and a 4-1 conference mark. Brescia falls to 8-4 and 3-2, respectively.

IU East outshot the Bearcats 14-9 in the game. Diceanu led the team with four shots.

The Red Wolves almost had another goal three minutes after Diceanu’s. But Mia Runyan's shot hit the crossbar to keep it 1-0.

With 12 seconds left, the Bearcats looked to equalize but Elizabeth Sarfo-Benson collected the save and the win for IU East.

The Red Wolves will be on the road in their next contest. They travel to SMWC on Saturday Oct. 18.
