Women's Soccer: Weekend Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - There is a lot on the line for the Indiana University East women's soccer team as the Red Wolves play two River States Conference matches this week.

Currently in fourth place, the Red Wolves are battling for their position in the post-season conference tournament as they begin their quest against IU Kokomo on Thursday, Oct. 30. The RSC Match of the Week at Centerville High School is at 6 p.m.

IU East's regular season finale is at Midway University on Saturday, Nov. 1. The contest on the Midway Turf Field begins at 5 p.m.

The Red Wolves are 9-5-2 and 6-2 in the RSC after a 3-1 victory over the University of Rio Grande last weekend.

IU Kokomo is 9-4-3 and at 6-1-1 the Cougars are in second place in the conference. The Cougars have won five straight including 3-2 win over Brescia University on Oct. 25.

Midway is 4-9-1 and 2-6 as the Eagles enter Thursday's contest at home versus Shawnee State University.

The GPS address for Centerville High School is 507 Willow Grove Road in Centerville, Ind. The soccer field is in the southwest portion of the CHS campus, adjacent to the tennis courts and baseball field.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* Oakland City University leads the RSC at 7-0-1 just ahead of IU Kokomo. WVU Tech is third at 6-2-1 as the tie puts the Golden Bears in front of IU East.

* Rio Grande (5-2-1) and Bresica (5-4) are currently in the final two post-season spots as the RSC Championships will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

* Kelsey Leming, Katherine Lopez Cruz and Mia Runyan each had goals in IU East's win over Rio Grande.
