Red Wolves Fall to Midway in RSC Semis

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The IU East women's team reached the semifinals of the RSC Tournament but would fall to Midway 4-1 to end their season.

 

The Red Wolves defeated IU Southeast 4-0 in the morning before falling to the Eagles.

 

Linda Marino and Eva Caballero won at No. 1 Doubles but the Eagles won the other two doubles matches to claim the point to lead 1-0. Caballero won the point for IU East at No. 2 Singles defeating Mara Guillen 6-2, 6-4.

 

In the earlier match, the Red Wolves grabbed the doubles point after Caballero and Marino defeated the Grenadiers No. 1 Doubles team 6-1. They eventually claimed No. 5 and 6 Singles by default giving way for Caballero to win the fourth and deciding point at No. Singles 6-0, 6-1.

 

The Red Wolves end the season with an 8-6 record.
