Tennis: IU East Women Win at Taylor
UPLAND, Ind. - The Indiana University East tennis teams spilt a pair of matches at Taylor University on Monday, March 9.
The Red Wolves posted a 5-2 victory over the Trojans in the women's contest as Taylor won the men's affair 4-3.
IU East's women are now 4-8 overall, while Taylor is 3-5. The men for IU East are 4-9 and the Trojans are 3-4.
The Red Wolves started the day by taking the women's doubles point as Brooke Schafstall and Gracie Helms won at No. 1 with Chantelle Mapondera and Carli Cox winning at No. 3.
In singles, IU East had wins from Lauren Miller (No. 3), Schafstall (No. 4), Lexi Wennen (No. 5) and Cox (No. 6).
For the men, Alex Piercy and Juan Diego Balao won at No. 2 doubles for the Red Wolves as Diego Balao (No. 4) and Clay Conner (No. 6) were victorious in singles.
Next up for IU East is the River States Conference opener for both squads at Shawnee State University on Friday, March 20.
