Tennis: Red Wolves Visit Earlham
RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East tennis teams dropped a pair of contests at Earlham College on Friday, April 17.
Earlham won the men's affair 5-2 in the Gene Hambrick Varsity Tennis Center, while the Quakers were victorious in the women's match 4-3.
IU East's men are now 7-13 with a 2-2 mark in the River States Conference, The women are 5-13 and 1-3. Both Earlham teams are 10-5.
The Red Wolves swept the men's doubles competition as Andrea Klaric and Sachin Vanaraja (No. 1), Juan Diego Balao and Alex Piercy (No. 2) and Bryce Wennen and Connor Burk (No. 3) each won.
Clay Connor (No. 6) won IU East's only contest in singles.
In women's doubles, IU East picked up the point with wins by Brooke Schafstall and Gracie Helms (No. 1) and Lexi Wennen and Lauren Miller (No. 2). Schafstall (No. 3) and Wennen (No. 5) took matches in singles.
The IU East women are back in action against IU Kokomo on Saturday, April 18. The RSC match at the Pendleton Community Sports and Wellness gets underway at 5:45 p.m.
Both squads finish the regular season at RSC foe Brescia University on Sunday, April 19. The contests begin at 2 p.m. (IU East time).
