Indoor Track: IU East at IWU Midwest Classic Recap
MARION, Ind. - A pair of school records were established as the Indiana University East indoor track and field teams took part in Indiana Wesleyan University's Midwest Classic on Saturday, Feb. 7.
The first new mark was set by the women's distance medley relay squad of Emily Fleming, Mackenzie Rohde, Mylee Shatto and Kayci Hill as they posted a 12:36.39 to finish fifth.
Individually, Chloe Scales now owns the top time for the Red Wolves in the women's 5000 meters at 18:48.24 as she was fifth. Scales was followed in the race by Samantha Fowler in seventh (19:04.56) and Althea Clifford who had a freshman record of 19:13.12 to finish eighth.
Mackenzie Rohde, who was fourth in the 400 meters, had the best finish for the IU East women with a 1:01.59.
Brody Puckett (400 meters, 51.40), Hunter Allen (800 meters, 1:58.92) and Richard Bower (5,000 meters, 15:33.79) led the men as they each were fourth in their events.
The Red Wolves capped the night in Troyer Fieldhouse in the men's 1,600-meter relay. IU East's group of DeAndre Hall, Jaiden Crowell, Conner Walser and Akot Tong finished fifth with a time of 3:31.73.

Next up for the Red Wolves is a two-day trip to Grand Valley State University next weekend on Feb. 13-14.
