Jessica Swimm Earns NAIA First Team All-American

RICHMOND, Ind. – Jessica Swimm earned something no other Red Wolf volleyball player has ever received – First Team NAIA All-American.

Swimm was among 13 others tabbed as one of the best players in the NAIA this season.

"Jessica was lifting and doing workouts all summer long," head coach Kim McConaha said. "She came in physically prepared. Mentally, I know she wanted to step up her game to be a better teammate and she accomplished that as well. Put those things together and you have what it takes to become successful on a team. I am proud of Jess and how much growth she showed this season. She deserves this recognition."

Swimm ranked fifth in the nation with 4.44 kills per set. She also ranked 13th in the nation with 502 kills.

"I couldn't have been awarded this without my teammates and coaches," Swimm said. "I am very lucky to be with such a hardworking group everyday. I'm so grateful that they helped me achieve one of the goals that I've been working on towards since coming to IU East."

Along with NAIA First Team All-American, Swimm was named to the AVCA First Team as well as earning RSC Player of the Year.

Swimm helped her team reach the NAIA Opening Round and to a 27-9 record this season.
