Women's Volleyball: Weekend Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East women's volleyball team welcomes a pair of River States Conference East Division opponents to Lingle Court this weekend.

The Red Wolves start with the University of Rio Grande on Friday, Oct. 24. That contest against the East Division leader gets underway at 6 p.m. On Saturday, IU East faces WVU Tech at 1 p.m.

With two straight wins, IU East is 13-16 and 6-5 in the RSC East as the Red Wolves are coming off a 25-13, 25-15, 25-21 victory at Brescia University last Saturday.

Rio Grande is 20-9 and 8-3 having lost two in a row including a 23-25, 27-25, 25-21, 25-22 decision at home to St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Oct. 17.

WVU Tech heads into Friday's match at Midway University with a 4-25 overall mark and 3-8 in the league.

* Also versus Brescia, Aislyn Hogan had 25 assists, while Ella Bickel had 19 digs.

* Rio Grande defeated IU East 25-21, 27-25, 25-22 earlier this season.

* The Red Wolves beat WVU Tech 25-19, 24-26, 25-19, 25-15 on the road back on Sept. 13.
