Women's Volleyball: Bickel Honored by NAIA

RICHMOND, Ind. - Indiana University East women's volleyball player picked up a second honor this week after setting a school record for digs last weekend.

After being named the River States Conference Defender of the Week, Ella Bickel received national recognition for her efforts in a pair of league matches against IU Columbus and IU Southeast on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

The NAIA Defender of the Week, Bickel had 75 digs for the Red Wolves in the two matches, which included her new mark of 50 in the win over IU Columbus.

Bickel finished with 25 digs in a three-set loss to IU Southeast to end with 9.38 digs per set in both affairs.

IU East (11-16, 4-5) is back in action at Oakland City University on Friday, Oct. 17. The RSC contest gets underway at 7 p.m. (IU East time).
