Women's Volleyball: IU East 3, Shawnee State 2
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio - After dropping two sets, the Indiana University East women's volleyball team responded with a 17-25, 21-25, 25-21, 27-25, 15-12 win at Shawnee State University on Friday, Nov. 7.
With the River States Conference victory in Waller Gymnasium, the Red Wolves have won six straight and are now 17-16 overall and 10-5 in the league. Shawnee State's four-match winning streak ended with the Bears falling to 20-11 and 9-6.
Alayna Barrett topped the Red Wolves with 17 kills as Amyra Lockett finished with 13. Noema Philistin-Lynch and Aubrey Miller both added 12 kills.
Aislyn Hogan had 51 assists for the Red Wolves as Ella Bickel had 36 digs.
Bickel needs 37 more digs to surpass IU East's all-time leader Kristin Waechter, who had 2,372 for the Red Wolves from 2009-12.
Abby Herman followed Bickel in digs with 20, while Carli Cox finished with 17 and Payton Schultheis added 10.
IU East ends the regular season against Kentucky Christian University on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Red Wolves will also celebrate Senior Day on Lingle Court with the match starting at 1 p.m. Bickel and Cox will be honored.
