Women's Cross Country: IU East at RSC Championships Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East women's cross country team is looking for its third straight title as the Red Wolves are set to compete in the River States Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 8.

The women's 6K at the University of Rio Grande gets underway at 10:30 a.m. The men's 8K race follows at 11:30 a.m. The awards ceremony is slated for 12:45 p.m.

Rio Grande is the only ranked squad in the field as the RedStorm are No. 21 in the NAIA national poll from Oct. 30.

IU East was second on the list of those receiving votes just two spots shy of making it into the top 25. Shawnee State University also picked up votes.

The Rio Grande cross country course is located on campus with an address of 218 N College Ave, Rio Grande, OH 45674.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* IU East won the conference championship in 2023 and 2024.

* The team champion on Saturday earns the RSC's automatic bid to the national meet on Friday, Nov. 21, which is at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.

* Individual qualification to nationals is earned by the top four runners in each race, who are not on a team qualifier. These individuals must finish among the Top 15 in the conference race.

* The top seven finishers will be All-RSC First Team with the runners in eighth through 14th on the All-RSC Second Team. The next seven will be All-RSC Third Team.
